What this site is for

Healthy Natural Diet publishes nutrition and weight management information for general readers. Most of our audience arrives from a search engine with a specific question, often about a diet trend, a food, or a supplement they have seen promoted somewhere.

Our job is to answer that question accurately, including when the accurate answer is that the thing does not work. A large share of nutrition content online exists to sell something. Ours exists to be useful before it is flattering.

Who writes our content

Articles are written by named people with relevant qualifications. We do not publish anonymous health content, and we do not use invented author personas.

Mounota Rahman is a dietitian with 15 years of experience in nutrition, personalized diet planning, and wellness coaching. She holds a Master’s degree in Nutritional Science from the University of Dhaka. She writes and reviews the majority of content on this site.

Every article carries the name of the person who wrote it, linked to a bio listing their qualifications. Where an article is written by one person and reviewed by another, both are named.

Where our expertise ends

We are a nutrition publication, not a medical one. That boundary matters, and we would rather state it than blur it.

We write about food, nutrition, diet patterns, and weight management. We do not publish clinical guidance on treating disease, and we do not cover topics that require a qualification we do not have. Where a subject sits at the edge of that line, for example nutrition during cancer treatment or eating with kidney disease, we either commission review from an appropriately qualified clinician and name them, or we do not publish the piece.

Nothing on this site is a diagnosis, a prescription, or a substitute for care from someone who knows your medical history.

How we source information

We work from a source hierarchy, in this order:

  1. Systematic reviews and meta-analyses in peer-reviewed journals
  2. Randomized controlled trials and other primary research
  3. Guidance from recognized health bodies: the World Health Organization, the American Heart Association, the NHS, the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, USDA FoodData Central
  4. Position statements from professional dietetic and nutrition associations

We do not treat other blogs, content farms, supplement manufacturers, or press releases as sources of fact.

Three specific commitments about sourcing:

We link to the original, not to someone else’s summary of it. If we cite a nutrition figure, we link to the database entry. If we cite a study, we link to the study.

We describe what a study actually found. A great deal of nutrition writing takes a laboratory result and reports it as a human outcome, or takes a small effect and describes it as a breakthrough. We state sample sizes, populations, and limitations where they change the conclusion.

We flag when the evidence is thin. “There is no good research on this” is a legitimate finding and we publish it as one.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to assist with research, drafting, and editing. We are telling you this because we think you should know, and because plenty of sites do the same without saying so.

What that does not change: a named, qualified human decides what the article says, verifies every factual claim against a primary source, and takes responsibility for the published result. We do not publish machine-generated text that nobody has checked. Any error you find on this site is ours, not a tool’s.

Facts that expire

Prices, product formulations, clinical guidelines, and public health recommendations all change. Content written from memory goes stale quietly.

So we verify time-sensitive details against a live source at the point of writing, not from recollection, and we prefer to publish figures as ranges rather than as single numbers that will be wrong in six months.

Every article shows the date it was last updated. When we update a piece substantially, we change that date and, where the conclusion has changed, we say what changed and why.

Review schedule

We review our most-read articles at least once every 12 months, and sooner when guidance in that area changes.

Articles covering fast-moving subjects, including weight loss medications, supplement regulation, and public health guidance, are reviewed more frequently.

If a page has not been reviewed in a long time, that is a fault rather than a policy, and pointing it out is a favor to us.

Corrections

We correct errors rather than quietly deleting them.

If we get something wrong, we fix the article, note the correction, and update the modified date. For significant corrections, meaning anything that changes the practical advice, we say plainly what was wrong and what it should have said.

To report an error, use our contact page. Please include the URL and, if you can, the source that contradicts us. We read all of it.

What we will not publish

This is the part of our policy that actually constrains us, so it is the part worth reading.

We do not promise weight loss numbers or timelines.

We do not present rapid weight loss as a goal. We describe what restrictive plans involve, including who they are unsafe for, rather than prescribing them.

We do not publish content that could encourage disordered eating. No calorie targets framed as prescriptions, no food moralizing, no before-and-after imagery presented as a result you should expect. Our readers include people with a difficult relationship with food, and search terms about rapid weight loss reach them disproportionately.

If your own thoughts about food or your body are taking up more room than you want them to, that is worth talking to someone about. In the US, the National Alliance for Eating Disorders helpline is 1-866-662-1235.

We do not use fear as a hook. No toxin scares, no ingredient panic, no “the food industry does not want you to know.”

We do not publish detox or cleanse claims. Your liver and kidneys do that work. No food or drink improves on it.

We do not run testimonials as evidence. One person’s result is not data, and presenting it as data is how most supplement marketing works.

Money, and how it could bias us

We participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and other affiliate programs. When you buy through some of our links, we earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Our full disclosure sets out the details.

Here is what that money does not buy:

  • No company pays us for a positive review, and we do not accept payment for coverage.
  • Affiliate relationships do not decide our conclusions. If a product does not work, we say so, and we have published negative assessments of products we could have earned from.
  • We do not accept guest posts placed for backlinks.
  • Sponsored content, if we ever publish it, will be labeled as sponsored at the top of the page.

If you think a recommendation on this site reads like it was bought, tell us. That criticism is useful even when it is wrong.

Medical disclaimer

Everything on this site is general information. It is not medical advice, it is not tailored to you, and it cannot account for your medical history, medications, or circumstances.

Talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian before starting any diet, supplement, or significant change to how you eat, and particularly if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, managing a chronic condition, taking prescription medication, or have a history of disordered eating.
